Tiny, Hands-Free POV Cam: Extremely compact standalone unit (≈ 53 g) that can be mounted magnetically or via accessories for immersive point-of-view footage.
4K at 60 fps Video: Upgrades from previous GO models by allowing 4K60 capture, making motion smoother and more cinematic.
Larger Sensor: Uses a 1/1.28-inch sensor, which captures more light and is claimed to provide ~200% more low-light performance over its predecessor.
Swappable microSD Storage: Unlike earlier GO models, the GO Ultra supports a microSD card (up to 2 TB), enabling flexible, removable storage.
Action Pod Module: The camera pairs with an “Action Pod” that adds a flip-up display and extended battery runtime, turning it into a more traditional action cam form factor.
Better Battery Life: The standalone camera lasts about 70 minutes; with the Action Pod, it can reach about 200 minutes in some modes.
Active HDR & PureVideo Modes: For more dynamic scenes or low-light conditions, these modes help manage exposure and noise using AI-based processing.
Magnetic Mounting System: The GO Ultra has a magnetic base so you can directly place it on metal surfaces or use magnetic pendants, clips, and mounts.
Waterproof Pod, Accessories Needed for Full Setup: The standalone unit is waterproof to 10 m (33 ft), but the Action Pod is not inherently waterproof (you’ll need a dive case).
Wider Field of View & 2× Zoom Option: Field-of-view increased to 156°, and there is a 2× clarity (lossless) zoom that uses sensor scaling rather than optical zoom.
Quick Charge: Rapid charging capabilities — up to ~80% in ~12 minutes for the camera module.

The Insta360 GO Ultra packs serious performance into a tiny, wearable form. Its large 1/1.28″ sensor, 4K60 video, removable microSD storage, magnetic mounting, and modular “Action Pod” for extended use make it a top pick for POV creators, vloggers, and adventurers. That said, while it brings many advanced features for such a small camera, image detail in some lighting conditions still trails larger, higher-end action cams.
